Appearance
William is a male blue jay who looks similar to his son in appearance. He has dark brown hair that is slicked back, square black glasses and a gold wedding ring.
He wears a white shirt with a black blazer, khaki pants, and black shoes in "The Thanksgiving Special", and in "Maxin' and Relaxin'" while he's at work.
In the rest of his appearances, he wears an olive cardigan over a white shirt, light brown pants, and brown shoes.
Biography
Not much is known about Mordecai's parents, except that they have been married for 25 years ( "Maxin' and Relaxin'") and that Mordecai is their only son. During Thanksgiving Dinner, they visited Mordecai at the Park and had a lovely time; later CJ and Mordecai come to their house for dinner.
Mordecai's father, William, is a down-to-earth man who possibly works as an architect. In "Maxin' and Relaxin'", Mordecai is terrified that CJ will leave him after meeting his mother, who has always scared off Girls he brought home by embarrassing him, to the point that he asks his dad to get her out of the house so they can stop by and pick up a mix-tape. His dad doesn't follow through with his son's request (as he hasn't told a lie to her in 25 years of marriage).
At the end of "Rigby's Graduation Day Special", he and Hilary look worried as they see the park dome blasting off into space as they got groceries out of their car.
In the series finale, William and Hilary ran through the crowd hugging Mordecai, and Hilary kissed Mordecai, on the cheek.
Trivia
- William has two sets of voice actors: Alastair Duncan voices him in "The Thanksgiving Special", and Ed Begley, Jr. voices him in "Maxin' and Relaxin'".
- William's name was revealed in "Maxin' and Relaxin'".
- William may be an architect or some form of an engineer. This is suggested by the blueprints on his desk, the framed photographs of skyscrapers and blueprints on his office wall, the presence of a drafting board in the corner, and a large pot containing rolled up blueprint paper in the corner of his office, as seen in "Maxin' and Relaxin'."
- It is debatable how far Mordecai's parents actually live: during The Thanksgiving Special, they apparently needed to take a plane to the city where the park is, but in "Maxin' and Relaxin", "Sad Sax", and "Rigby's Graduation Day Special" it appears to be within driving distance, and in the latter’s case they can clearly see the park launch into space. This also goes for flashbacks to Mordecai's teen years, as West Anderson High School is also within driving distance of The Park, meaning his house would have to be close by it too.
- Despite Mordecai having blue crested "hair" like a typical blue jay, his parents have human-like blonde and brown hair.
- Mordecai has been shown to be able to grow brown hair on his face however. He also had brown hair in his teen years although it was likely dyed, as he had the same blue feathers all thought his early childhood.
- William and Hilary both share the same first name of the former President and First Lady, respectfully.
- Coincidentally, his first voice actor, Alastair Duncan, voiced Steven Armstrong, senator of the U.S. state of Colorado, the main antagonist of the 2013 video game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, who was nominated to run for president in the 2020 Election.
