Unfinished Business is the second segment in the Season Six episode "Terror Tales of the Park IV". It aired on October 29, 2014, and was written & storyboarded by Owen Dennis and Toby Jones.

Like with the rest of the "Terror Tales" saga, this story is non-canon, and treated as an in-universe story told by Benson.

Synopsis[]

Benson is haunted by the still-employed ghosts of Mordecai and Rigby.

Plot[]

Mordecai and Rigby are dead for unknown reasons. Benson informs the remaining park employees that he considers the duo his friends and shares an obituary about them. However, Skips and Muscle Man remind Benson of the one job he forgot to do, which leads to a meeting after the obituary. Muscle Man tells Benson that he has to fire Mordecai and Rigby, despite Benson having already dug their grave and seen their memorial. Skips goes further and warns Benson that if he doesn't fire them, they will haunt the house forever. Benson makes several attempts to fire the duo over three months, but he gets scared every time. He believes he has them with their video games, but that doesn't work either. Later, Benson remembers that Mr. Maellard had told him that a worker is not technically fired until they're removed from the employee database. Benson realizes that he needs to delete their profiles from the database to fire them. He races to the computer while trying to avoid the two, and as he approaches his office, he sees a ghostly tornado in it. He tries to get to the computer but is interrupted by Mordecai and Rigby. Benson shoves them away and tries to remove them from the database, but popup ads of the duo block his attempts to fire them. He eventually deletes Mordecai and Rigby's profiles and is excited about his success in firing them. However, Benson's celebration is short-lived as he suddenly feels his soul being sucked out. Mordecai and Rigby inform him that he's the one who's dead, not them. They explain that Benson died when he fell off a ladder while hooking up Halloween decorations. He's been haunting the house for three months. Benson tells them that they've ruined his office, but Mordecai and Rigby remind him that it's their office now, and they got promoted. The scenery changes, and they find themselves in a graveyard where Mordecai shows Benson his grave.
