Wow, I actually never noticed that and thought they were just fighting. Good eye!
Hmm... that's very interesting. I always thought they were fighting as well. Maybe this is a sign that Margaret will come back at some point and ask Mordecai to forgive her and take her back, despite his current relationship with CJ. And now that I'm burning holes into my screen, I'm also noticing that it looks like Mordecai's suffering a heart attack or something. That could possibly mean that he will be very conflicted on who to choose in the future and will most likely suffer a broken heart one way or another. Man... this whole tree bark scene is very trippy and confusing. I think I'm going to back away from this conversation before I come up with any more bizarre theories...
Now that you mention it, yeah. They don't seem to be angry or even looking at each other. And assuming that the stuff we saw in the hallucination IS a predictor of the future, I'm kinda interested in what the Benson-snake hybrid is all about.
Maybe Benson will get bit by a magical snake in a future episode and start turning into one himself. (Although they technically made an episode very similar to that already) If everything in the hallucination somehow comes true, I'm also very curious to see where the burger lady and Rigby getting covered in mustard comes into play. Actually... I just came up with another theory. What if the hallucination scene wasn't predicting anything at all and was only showing some of Mordecai and Rigby's biggest fears/concerns at the time? For example, Rigby getting covered in mustard could represent the fact that he is still afraid of magical talking hot dogs trying to marinate him and his friends. (For what it's worth, I'd have nightmares about that, too XD) Having to see Margaret and CJ fight could definitely be one of Mordecai's greatest fears. And isn't Rigby afraid of amusement park mascots? That burger lady could have easily been a mascot. Maybe the tree bark was only making the duo imagine the worst possible scenarios and nothing more. Although I'd find it interesting to see parts of the hallucination come into play in later episodes, that might not have been what the creators were going for.
Yeah, I think that's the more likely case. Like the scene's just taking stuff they've seen/experienced and doing weird things to them. Actually, if having CJ in there was a predictor of anything it would be her return to the series, since at the time the episode first aired she was still a one-off character.
If this scene happened after some of the latest episodes, I'd say it was probably something Mordecai was still secretly hoping for. (Margaret coming back for him.)
But since it happened before CJ even re-appeard...well, I don't think Margaret's coming back this season, but I think she will at one point. And then, I'm guessing there will be drama. Maybe the tables would turn? She'd want him, but he now likes CJ and wants to be with her instead?
Just saying whatever comes to mind right now.
CharismaKid16 also had a really great point about them only having a 'bad trip'. When I look at the image, they do seem pretty distressed. So maybe...yeah, it was just their fears.
another thing you didn't notice is that when you were looking at margaret reaching out for mordecai rigby has a really annoyed look on his face its like hes saying
UHHHHHHHH!!!! I can't stand all this romantic lameness
as for CJ she looks confused and sort upset that mordecai has to choose I would like this to happen but not in a conflicting way
I think you guys are thinking too hard on the Benson-snake thing. They were probally just trying to fill space.
