The Perfect Haircut is the second main story in the Regular Show Comics series. It spanned across Issues #4 and #5, and released in July and August 2013, respectively. It was written by KC Green and illustrated by Al Strejlau.

Synopsis[]

Pops offers to give Mordecai a haircut, something he will live to regret.

Plot[]

Instead of working, Mordecai and Rigby are messing around at the front of the house, attempting to balance a rake on their fingers. Mordecai is successful, but Rigby fails miserably. Muscle Man arrives and attempts to balance the rake on his hand, but ends up snapping it in half. Mordecai mocks him for this, with Muscle Man retaliating by mocking Mordecai's messy hair, before leaving. Rigby reiterates Muscle Man's point, and Mordecai realizes he needs a haircut. Pops suddenly arrives and offers to give Mordecai a free haircut, informing him that he used to cut Skips' hair. They both enter the house as Rigby tries to fix the broken rake. Skips then arrives and Rigby tells him about Pops giving him a haircut. Skips panics and tells Rigby that Pops gave him the worst haircuts he ever had. They both race to Pops' room to stop him from cutting Mordecai's hair, but they're too late, and he now has an old-fashioned curly hairstyle.

Sometime later, Rigby takes Mordecai to "the highest-rated haircut place" which he found on the internet. Inside, they are greeted by a barber with a comically large head. Rigby reveals Mordecai's haircut to the barber, who sits Mordecai into a chair to "change what has been done". He pulls a lever, activating a Haircut Bot, which he claims will know the "perfect look" for Mordecai. Several arms grow from the robot, holding various haircut accessories. The robot cuts Mordecai's hair, and when finished, it reveals a zigzag mohawk-type of haircut. Mordecai furiously demands that the barber redoes his hair, but he refuses, claiming that the robot "does it perfect from the moment you sit down". Mordecai screams back at the barber, as the robot begins to beep aggressively, before grabbing Mordecai and holding him against itself. The barber tells Mordecai that if he can't appreciate the haircut, then he doesn't deserve the hair, and the robot pulls out a large machete. Rigby complains that the salon had a "five-star rating", which the barber reveals he left in order to drum up more customers. Rigby runs to the robot and lowers Mordecai's chair to rescue him, then kicks the barber back into the robot's chair, head first, causing his butt to get chopped off. Mordecai and Rigby run off in horror.

Back at the Park, Mordecai gets a proper haircut from Skips, who tells him that he's been cutting his own hair since Pops stopped.

  • Pops used to cut Skips' hair, giving him terrible haircuts. To combat this, Skips lied to him and said that his hair had stopped growing. To avoid getting caught out, Skips has to regularly trim his hair to be the exact same length.
