Early life

Steven Jay Blum was born in Santa Monica, California.[2] Prior to voice acting, Blum had numerous jobs, some being: working at book, pet and auto-parts stores, serving fire protection equipment, running a mail room, driving a delivery truck, managing warehouses, serving as an international film and video sales/service coordinator, a copywriter, a marketing exceutive for a sci-fi film company, an ADR script writer and a part-time musician.[3] His first voice acting role was on Guyver.[2] Soon after Blum chose to be a full-time voice actor, the voice acting union he was associated with went on strike, leaving Blum out of work for eight months, and causing him to live on credit cards during that time period.[4]
