"Replaced" is the twenty-second episode in Season Three (and sixty-second episode overall) of Regular Show. It first aired on April 16, 2012.
Synopsis[]
Mordecai and Rigby attempt to sabotage a duo Benson is considering hiring to save their jobs.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a phone message from Margaret and Eileen to Mordecai and Rigby, complimenting them on their party from the previous night. Mordecai, in a daze, realizes that Rigby had set the alarm clock to 6 PM rather than 6 AM, and that they are both two hours late for their meeting with Benson by the Paddle Boats. They hastily clean up the house and drive the golf cart to the paddle boats. As they drive, Mordecai voices his concern that Benson will not forgive them this time, being late five times beforehand.
When Mordecai and Rigby pull up to the paddle boats, they see Benson talking with Jeremy and Chad. Benson instructs Jeremy and Chad to clean and check the paddle boats, and is delighted when they agree easily. Realizing that Benson will fire them, Mordecai and Rigby talk to Benson. Benson tells the two to 'not worry about it', stating people who make mistakes 'end up having to pay for those mistakes'. They insist on being assigned a job, but are reassured by Benson that Jeremy and Chad are capable (hinting that Benson will fire them).
Mordecai and Rigby figure that their only solution is sabotage. All of their attempts to sabotage Jeremy and Chad fail, much to their dismay. On another attempt, Mordecai and Rigby, split open a bag of compost onto the paddle boat, that had just been cleaned, to which Jeremy and Chad become hostile, as Jeremy shoved Mordecai and threatened the two to leave or they'll resort to violence. Mordecai and Rigby leave, still determined to make them leave, without wanting to fight them, they instead come up with another plan: to host a pizza party and invite everybody. Mordecai and Rigby find that as the party progresses, Jeremy and Chad are not fazed from doing their work, so as a last resort, Mordecai and Rigby turn up the music. The blast of the music causes one of the speakers to fall into the lake, somehow, summoning several giant lake monsters. Jeremy and Chad snap, and begin to brawl with Mordecai and Rigby after being prompted by one of the sea monsters, to which the whole party becomes chaotic, with everyone breaking out into a fight.
Soon Benson appears, forcing the partygoers out in a rage and hastily warns them never to set foot in the park ever again, before he proceeds to fire Mordecai and Rigby. Mordecai and Rigby try their best to defend their position, but their attempt is futile as Benson strictly commands them to leave the park, with the implication that they were never allowed in the park again for the foreseeable future, while flashing a camera at them, taking pictures of their expressions of getting fired. After managing to calm down, Benson then offers the jobs to Jeremy and Chad, who are exasperated at the events of the day and they rocket away with their phones, saying "Good luck finding two suckers dumb enough to take this job", to Benson's dismay. Just nearby, Mordecai and Rigby then offer themselves for their old jobs to a mortified Benson and Rigby then takes a photo of him, as payback, thus ending the episode.

Pop Culture References[]
- Chad and Jeremy are possibly named after the English folk musicians Chad & Jeremy. Jeremy's glasses also appear to be based on the real life Jeremy.
- The devices that Jeremy and Chad use to set up schedules look like PalmPilots.
- The synopsis of the episode resembles the plot of the episode of Phineas and Ferb: "Thaddeus and Thor".
- When Rigby is inviting people to the pizza party, one of the people is called Geo Dude, which is similar to the Pokémon Geodude from the Pokémon game and anime series.
Goofs[]
- Benson's mouth and eyebrows briefly disappear when he takes a third picture of Mordecai and Rigby.
- When the pizza party was running, there had been several changes in the number and position of the boats. At the beginning of the pizza party, there were five ships on the right side of the bridge, one on the front side of the bridge, and no ships at all on the left side of the bridge. But afterward, it was shown that there were several ships on the left side of the bridge. When the battle would occur, it was shown that there were five ships on the right side of the bridge and three ships on the left. But when Benson came with his golf cart, there were only three ships left and when Chad and Jeremy were going to fly away after rejecting a job offer from Benson, there were only two ships left (it seems that many other ships had been carried by giant sea monsters).
