Party Bus is the second segment in the Season 4 episode "Terror Tales of the Park II". It aired on October 15, 2012, and was written & storyboarded by Sean Szeles and Kat Morris.

Like with the rest of the "Terror Tales" saga, this story is non-canon, and treated as an in-universe story told by Margaret.

Synopsis[]

Mordecai, Margaret, Rigby and Eileen catch a bus to the movies.

Plot[]

Mordecai, Rigby, Margaret and Eileen are going to the movies. They try using the cart as Margaret's car was being repaired, but Benson and Skips commandeer it to patrol the park for hooligans. Eileen calls a cab to drive them over, but a mysterious bus arrives before the taxi does.

They board the bus, which turns out to be a party bus, but as the bus moves forward, everyone on the bus starts aging. It is then that everything falls into place: the bus they are on is a supernatural vehicle, which affects everyone's time.

The group attempts to get the bus stopped, but everything they try ultimately fails until Mordecai puts it in reverse. Just when all seems to be well, the opposite effect is now taking place- they start de-aging rapidly. They climb through a hatch on the top of the bus, and leap off just as they turn into babies, celebrating their escape, but as they fall, they disappear into dust.

Pop Culture References[]

  • The costumes worn by the main characters are inspired by the following:
    • Mordecai is dressed as a three-eyed reptilian creature with green claws. He is wearing a torn letterman jacket in red with matching sneakers, a possible riff on Michael J. Fox's character in Teen Wolf.
    • Rigby is dressed as a classic mad scientist, with a white lab coat, purple tinted goggles and yellow safety gloves. His hair has been combed so that it is spiking upwards.
    • Margaret is dressed in a gray top with military dog tags, green combat fatigues, black boots, a black headband and a mock bandage on her left arm, seemingly inspired by the outfit worn by the Sylvester Stallone character John Rambo in First Blood.
    • Eileen is dressed in a maroon suit with a blue collared shirt and red tie, her hair is slicked back with a pair of black shades on her head, and she carries a briefcase which holds an '80s cell phone. Her outfit appears to be inspired by that of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.
