Manic Moshers is the first main story in the Regular Show Comics series. It spanned across issues #1 and #2, released in April and May 2013, respectively. It was written by KC Green, and illustrated by Al Strejlau.
Synopsis[]
Trouble arises when Muscle Man is challenged to start a mosh pit at the Park's Annual Benefit Concert.
Plot[]
Mordecai and Rigby are picking up the trash at the Park's annual benefit concert, with Rigby eating the leftovers thrown away by the crowd. Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost arrive, bothered by the type of music being played, as well as the unenthusiastic crowd. Mordecai and Rigby challenge Muscle Man to start a mosh pit, claiming it to be "physically impossible" due to the types of people in the crowd. Muscle Man eagerly accepts the challenge, with Hi Five Ghost shoving him into a crowd member. A wild mosh pit quickly forms, possessing each crowd member with an extremely rowdy nature, including the performers, who start to play much heavier music. Skips and Benson arrive, and immediately confront Mordecai and Rigby, who deflect their blame onto Muscle Man. Benson approaches Muscle Man, who is on stage in the center of the mosh pit, and confronts him. Muscle Man turns around, with his eyes glowing, and kicks Benson off the stage. Skips informs the guys that the mosh pit being started at a non-rowdy concert has caused a rift to open between music genres, and that it has awoken a demon who feeds off the rowdy energy of teenagers, living beneath the park. The only way to stop it is by going "to the source", by stopping Muscle Man from moshing.
Later, Mordecai, Rigby and Skips tie themselves to a plank, to jump into the mosh pit to pull Muscle Man out. The trio fall through various layers of the mosh pit before they reach the bottom, where they find a giant red crystal containing both Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost, with their rowdy energy being sucked out of them. The Rowdy Monster appears, refusing to let them go, claiming that their antics have kept him in stasis, but that the mosh pit has awoken him. Rigby tries to attack him, but it makes him grow stronger. Mordecai suggests to Skips that they can free their friends if they smash the crystal in which they are contained in. Skips distracts the monster by charging at him, while Mordecai and Rigby tie the crystal up to themselves. Skips hops onto the crystal as Benson and Pops pull them back to the surface. The monster follows them and attacks Skips before he can smash the crystal. Mordecai and Rigby quickly grab the crystal themselves and smash it against the monster's head, freeing Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost, and sending the monster back into the pit, which closes.
Everyone in the crowd returns to their normal state, with no memory of the mosh pit, claiming that the "concert must have sucked so hard" as a reason for their lack of memory. As a consequence, everyone throws their trash at Benson while booing him. Benson yells at Mordecai and Rigby to clean up the mess before storming off. Rigby then finds a hot dog on the floor and tries to eat it, but Mordecai stops him.
