Linda Edna Cardellini[1] (born June 25, 1975)[1] is a voice actress for Regular Show.

Early life

Linda Edna Cardellini was born on June 25, 1975, in Redwood City, California.[1] Her parents are Wayne David, who began as a plumber before becoming a businessman, and Lorraine, a homemaker, (née Herman) Cardellini.[2][3] She also has three siblings, one of them being a sister and the other two being brothers.[3][4][5][6] She became interested in acting after being asked to sing in a school play when she was 10,[1] where she played in a production of The Music Man, and she stuffed her bra to play her role: an elderly woman.[7] She graduated high school at St. Francis High School in 1993.[2]

Career

She made her television debut on Bone Chillers and then her film debut with the Nickelodeon film Good Burger in 1997.[1] Later that year, she was a contestant on The Price is Right and won a fireplace.[1] Her breakout role was playing Lindsay Weir on Freaks and Geeks.[1] She earned a small scholarship in Santa Clara before deciding on attending Loyola Marymount.[6] She took a break from college to play Velma in Scooby-Doo; after filming for the movie ended she returned to Loyola, studying history, math and a women's study course later graduated college at Loyola Marymount University in 2001 with a degree in communication.[8]

After college she continued her acting career, acting in the movie Legally Blonde, where behind the scenes her curling iron became so hot it burnt a piece of her hair and as a result, her hair was stuck up for three weeks.[7] She also played Velma Dinkley in two live-action Scooby-Doo movies.[7] She also was Samantha Taggart on ER from 2003 until the show ended in 2009.[1] On Regular Show, she provides the voice of CJ. She also voiced Wendy Corduroy on Gravity Falls[9] and plays Sylvia on Mad Men.[10] Cardellini enjoys watching The Office, Dexter, and South Park.[7]

Personal life

Outside of acting Cardellini studies martial arts and enjoys observing art.[1][11] She dated Jason Segel from 2001 through 2006, who she met on the set of Dead Man on Campus, who was her co-star on Freaks and Geeks for a few years before dating an unspecified person for a couple of years afterward. After a break from dating, she began dating childhood friend, Steven Rodriguez, who met each other when she was 10 and he 11, respectively. They reconnected years later and began dating.[10][12][6][8][13] The two have one child together, a daughter named Lilah-Rose, who was born on February 29, 2012.[14] Cardellini and Rodriguez are currently engaged, having announced their engagement on June 7, 2013, and planning their wedding.[10][15] She and her family reside in Los Angeles, California.[16]
