"Grilled Cheese Deluxe" is the seventh episode of Regular Show's first season. It first aired on October 18, 2010 and was written and storyboarded by Sean Szeles and Shion Takeuchi.
Synopsis[]
Mordecai and Rigby's lies end up leading them to an astronaut compound while trying to purchase a "Grilled Cheese Deluxe" for Benson.
Plot[]
Rigby and Mordecai are eating some grilled cheese deluxe sandwiches from a restaurant called Cheezers while watching some funny internet videos but after a while, an irritated Benson storms in and claims that Rigby and Mordecai are eating his grilled cheese sandwich. Rigby lies to Benson and claims that the sandwich is supposed to be for himself but Benson doesn't believe his story. As a result, Benson orders Mordecai and Rigby to get another grilled cheese sandwich.
Whilst waiting in line for the sandwich, Mordecai is peeved after seeing two astronauts cut in line. After agreeing to prove Rigby that he's a better liar, he begins the challenge by claiming to a fat lady that he and Rigby are astronauts. The duo are able to cut in line and get the sandwich but before they can leave, Mordecai notices that Rigby is having a conversation with the two astronauts that cut in line. Rigby goes as far as telling the astronauts he and Mordecai are also astronauts and also claims that Mordecai is his captain. The two astronauts, Barry and Jones, decide to take Mordecai and Rigby to the compound and show them around after Mordecai quickly tells the astronauts that he and Rigby have to be there.
During the grand tour, the four come across Jimmy who is having trouble with fixing the anti-matter. Mordecai and Rigby continue the lying challenge by agreeing to help stabilize the anti-matter but they're lying doesn't resolve the issue, so the astronauts put Mordecai and Rigby in a chamber to fix it (the only way to actually stabilize the anti-nucleus is to throw a solid object into it). Mordecai decides to throw Rigby into the nucleus but this turns out to be another one of Mordecai's lies, as he decides to chuck the grilled cheese sandwich instead. After stabilizing the anti matter, Rigby decides to admit that he and Mordecai aren't astronauts. The astronauts give Mordecai and Rigby a lift home and threaten them with death if they lie about being astronauts again. They give the sandwich to Benson and after fiercely questioning the duo, Rigby tries to explain what happened, but Benson believes Mordecai is telling the truth after claiming that they ran it over by accident.
