Dumped at the Altar is the twenty-eighth and final episode of season six (and one-hundred and eighty first episode overall) of Regular Show. It aired on June 25, 2015, during the first ever "Regular Show Bomb".

Synopsis

The gang helps Muscle Man get married, but problems arise that involve Mordecai and CJ.

Plot

At the start of the episode, Mordecai and Rigby were drinking some sodas at sundown. Rigby asks how things are with CJ now that Margaret admitted that she still has feelings for Mordecai, and he replies that it is weird and awkward since she has been talking to friends from outta town and they haven't talked much. Then CJ calls and Rigby tells him to not be afraid of his feeling, and Mordecai hits him. She asks him if it is all right and he responds with a voice tone that shows what he is going through. Rigby asks Mordecai if it will be fine and Mordecai keeps replying yes.

As the Park workers prepare, Muscle Man gets emotional and smashes an ice sculpture, to which they say they were expecting him to be nervous.

Later Mordecai and Rigby are shown setting up the chairs, and Mordecai gets a call from Margaret who says she is preparing Starla for the wedding. She tries to apologize for the double date but an awkward Mordecai just continues saying it is ok, and hangs up only to see Rigby stacking the chairs into a pyramid.

After the wedding is set up, Mordecai and Rigby are standing at the entrance to greet the guests, and Margaret shows up. Mordecai greets her and tries to compliment her look, but instead compliments her shoes, disappointing Rigby. She then asks to be ushered, but Mordecai instead sends her to find a spot upon seeing CJ arrive. Ironically, when he greets CJ, he does compliment her look and ushers her to her seat, where she states that she has been thinking too. Then he gets a call from Benson and shows up to see Muscle Man troubled about not finding a letter from his dad. As they look in Muscle Man's mess Rigby notices Mordecai's awkwardness and he keeps insisting. Rigby, to justify himself, reluctantly reveals he and Eileen have been a couple for a long time and didn't tell to not shove it down his throat. But Mordecai still says it is ok and Rigby gives up saying that he was happy during his time with Eileen and that he deserves to be happy to. He also says he won't tell him anymore things, and that he knows him, and he has to follow his gut for once. Mordecai says relationships are always complicated, but Rigby reveals how easy his relationship is with Eileen.

Later when Starla says I do, Mordecai finds Muscle Man's letter and rush right when Muscle Man says no. Muscle Man reads, but gives it to Mordecai to read. The message impacts Mordecai as it also says for him to trust his gut, and he has a minor epiphany. Then he gives a speech saying that finding the right person is hard and that for a while he has been telling himself that there is no such thing as soul mates but now he is not so sure, and that now he doesn't know if there is a perfect person for him like Starla for Muscle Man, but that he has been ignoring his gut, and instead made everyone miserable. When he says he will take advice from Rigby for once, and tries to tell CJ something, CJ stands up and says that she already knows what he is gonna say, and that he doesn't know who his soul mate is. She gives back the bracelet from Real Date, and runs away crying, saying he didn't even point in her direction. A frustrated Muscle Man and Starla ask if they can continue, to which Mordecai says yes, and he steps on glass to finalize it.

At the reception, everyone is dancing to a rock instrumental, and one of the cooks accidentally throws a chicken out the roof and into Benson's car and then Benson rushes out. Behind him, Rigby comes out with two sodas and sees Mordecai talking with CJ. They hug each other, and she rides away on her bike, as Mordecai kicks a stone in frustration. He approaches Rigby and says that he and CJ are taking a break and Rigby asks him that when he told him to follow his gut, if it really said for him to dump his girlfriend at the altar. He replies that he is not good at those things and to quit rubbing in the fact that he has a girlfriend and he does not. Then they both take the sodas and head back to the reception as Benson mourns his once again wrecked car.
