"A Bunch of Full Grown Geese" is the nineteenth episode of the Season Four (and the ninety-eighth episode overall) of Regular Show. It is the ninety-eighth episode overall, and premiered on March 25, 2013.

Synopsis[]

When vicious, territorial geese show up at the park, Mordecai and Rigby call upon some old friends to get rid of them.

Plot[]

The episode begins with Mordecai, Rigby, and Pops making a sandwich at the park's lake. After they make the sandwich, a gang of vicious geese show up to terrorize the groundskeepers and the people surrounding them, reducing Pops to tears, and ruining their lunch. Mordecai and Rigby tell Benson about the situation. Benson states that he knows a "couple of guys" that will take care of the job for him. When Mordecai asks who they are, Benson casually states it's Mordecai and Rigby. Mordecai then kindly protests, but Benson doesn't want to hear it and threatens to fire him and Rigby if they don't get rid of the geese. After Rigby talks back to him about the fact that Benson always threatens to fire them for something that could be harmful or fatal to the duo and Rigby finishes his sentence by saying that Benson threatening to fire them is getting old, Benson then screams out in anger and chases the duo out of his office as he throws a fit.

Mordecai and Rigby attempt to get rid of the geese by using blankets and geese repellent, but both of these methods fail, making the geese angrier.

The duo ask Skips for advice, who tells them that they're on their own after hearing that the problem is geese related. However, he does tell them that ducks are the natural enemies of geese, and they should contact any duck friends they might have. Mordecai calls the Baby Ducks, who tells him to use lasers.

Returning to the lake with laser pointers, three of the geese fly away. Rigby notices that one of the geese is missing, who discovers that they are the source of the lasers. The geese drag the duo out of the bush and beat them up, before ripping out a tree and prepare to finish them off, when the baby ducks arrive and save them.

The baby ducks try telling the geese to leave, but the eyes of the geese give off a red glow and one of them talks (much to Mordecai and Rigby's sheer surprise). The geese refuse to leave, saying that they have taken over the lake and gotten rid of the humans and anything else that isn't a goose. The leader of the geese then says that if the baby ducks want it, they have to come and battle them for it. The baby ducks accept. The geese then transform into a giant four-headed goose robot, while the ducks transform into Eagle Man. They battle each other. After a while of battling, the ducks get extremely hurt and tell Mordecai and Rigby to fist pump like they mean it in order to end the battle. They successfully turn into an Eagle Man that forms upgrades, defeating the geese in the process.

Benson arrives, outraged at the amount of destruction in the park. He scolds Mordecai, Rigby, and the baby ducks for the mess they made. The Mother Duck arrives, annoyed and infuriated at Benson, for not appreciating the fact that Mordecai, Rigby and the baby ducks saved the park and possibly the world, when they defeated the geese and for scolding at her children. Ashamed and realising her point, Benson apologizes to them, and leaves sad and gloomy. Mordecai, Rigby, Mother Duck and the baby ducks celebrate their victory. The episode ends with pictures of them hanging out in different places.

Pop Culture References[]

  • The song, "The Touch" by Stan Bush, plays at one point, which is originally from the 1986 classic animated film, Transformers: The Movie.
    • On a further note, Fred Tatasciore (who voiced the Geese) previously voiced Megatron and several other Transformers in the 2010 game Transformers: War for Cybertron. Whether this was an intentional reference or a mere coincidence is unknown.
  • There are a few references to 1980's giant robot cartoons: Scramble Missiles and Rocket Punch from Tranzor Z/Mazinger Z, and Power Sword, the horns on the Eggscellent hat, as well as the end scene captions, from Voltron.
  • The Geese using a claw on the ducks is a reference to Godzilla vs King Ghidorah where Mecha-King Ghidorah uses the Machine Hand on Godzilla.
    • The Geese's combined form has multiple heads like King Ghidorah although the Geese have 4 heads unlike Ghidorah that has 3 heads.
  • The Energy Attack alongside the arm pose Hyperduck used is likely a reference to the Ultraman series.

Production Notes[]

  • Though this is the ninety-eighth episode of the series, it was celebrated as the one-hundredth, due to production order.

Goofs[]

  • The Power is one of the items used to defeat the geese, even though it was destroyed in its debut unless they got a new one.
  • This is the ninety eighth episode of Regular Show. However, the commercial advertised this as the one hundredth episode. The real one hundredth episode was "Limousine Lunchtime" and in production order, it is "Caveman".
  • During the battle against the Geese, when Mordecai pushes several keys on The Power, five notes are illuminated on the body armor. But when the notes are released, six notes are shown.
  • In the scene before Mordecai and Rigby attempt to scare the geese away by using towels, the lake was populated by people, but in the next shot (where Mordecai and Rigby prepare their towels), the lake is now vacant.
  • This episode is featured on the Regular Show: Rigby Pack DVD, despite having little to do with Rigby alone.
